This past September, I had the honor and joy to run for Auburn University’s Miss Homecoming. After participating in a two-round interview process, I was selected as a top 5 candidate to then create an advocacy campaign for an issue I saw students facing everyday. The campaign I created, “Be the Reason with Beason,” empowered younger students to find community and their reason for loving Auburn while also encouraging upperclassmen to reach out and be that reason for younger students.

An experience unlike any other, I gained so many skills that I am excited to showcase as a public relations practitioner. Some of these skills include public speaking, interpersonal communication, branding and more.

While the ideas for the disco ball, the colors and the platform were mine, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible people who made all of my ideas come to life. I am so thankful to have had the best team around me that took my ideas for the brand’s colors, typography style, and theme to create the campaign’s visual content. They created my logo, shot my official campaign photos, ran my social media accounts and helped bring my branding ideas to life. Below is the work our team put together to create the look of the campaign.
